The third of the Storiel Sessions features the Leeds based jazz septet Awen Ensemble.
This group has established itself as a popular live band and their recent album Cadair Idris has gained the highest of praise from the music press since its release in April. Melding the sonic folk palette of John Martyn with Modal jazz themes, the Awen Ensemble create a spellbinding sound that wins the audience over from the first note.
As part of the exhibition Hirael 'Pobol Iawn' (Portraits and Voices of Hirael), visitors are invited to a special event featuring a discussion with artist Pete Jones and photographer Robert Eames. Vanished Sea Village will offer a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the stories and themes behind the exhibition and to reflect on the rich visual history of the Hirael area
BLAS Pontio presents a project that has captured the wonderful community of Hirael, with support from Storiel. Film-maker Gwion Aled Williams and photographer Iolo Penri, have visited Hirael numerous times over the past year, getting a glimpse of the community and the people who live there.
