The annual Open Art exhibition is open to artists and students of 16 and over who live or work in Wales. There are 75 works by 57 artists in this year’s exhibition. This year’s Guest Judge was Luned Rhys Parri, selecting alongside Jeremy Yates.

These platters, also known as tension trays, offer an enjoyable introduction to the world of willow basket making. You will learn the skills of hoop making, simple weaving and pairing as well as a tie to finish the handles of the tray. Karla will also talk about willow growing and the preparation of willow for weaving. Small willow plants will be available for purchase on the day so that you can grow your willow at home.
Bangor University: 140 years of Collecting Art
01 February - 29 March 2025According to an article published by the Times Higher Education in 2005, Bangor University art collection is in the top ten of the best University art collections in the UK. The art collection consists of approximately 650 works, dating from the 17th to the 21st centuries, and is an important artistic and cultural asset for the University and for the whole of north Wales. This exhibition celebrates the 140th anniversary of the University and its art by displaying highlights from the collection.
