The Welsh have long believed that the natural world is abundant with magical qualities. Throughout our history there is mention that certain trees are sacred, that certain plants and herbs can keep wicked spirits away via their magical properties, and that fairies taught our ancestors how to heal certain ailments via herbs.

In this workshop we will explore the folklore and folk beliefs of Wales surrounding trees, plants, and herbs. Come along and learn how the fairies once danced beneath the branches of the Oak trees, which plant was believed to keep bad luck at bay when carried, and about an otherworldly lady who rose from a lake to teach Wales’s most famous physicians the art of herbal healing.
